Creative-Me Cornwall Play Therapy delivers one to one and group play and creative arts therapy to children who have experienced trauma or who display emotional or behavioural difficulties.
It is run by certified play therapist Sarah Foster who tailors the sessions to each child’s individual needs; using play to work through feelings and emotions in order to build up resilience to life’s challenges. Sarah holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy, a qualification awarded by Play Therapy UK (PTUK).
After taking a BA in Art and Textiles, Sarah focused on art and design for several years, helping with community projects and selling designs while studying art therapy, counselling and training in children’s yoga.
She has worked with children of primary and secondary ages and volunteered with refugee families. Being aware of the research on the wellbeing aspects of art, nature and play meant that she quickly realised that training in Play Therapy would enable her to utilise and combine her existing skills with newly acquired ones, in order to benefit a wide range of children
As well as play therapy, Sarah is now able to offer Outdoor Play Therapy (Land Play) and a 10 step parent and child play program (PCAP) for parents and carers who are feeling challenged by or struggling with parent/child relationships (see Land Play and PCAP sections).
Today she holds Play Therapy sessions in mid Cornwall (including Truro and St Austell) and is passionate about making a difference to children’s wellbeing in order for them to reach their potential.
